INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 liters organic apple juice or freshly pressed apple juice
- 2 large fresh Braeburn apples, sliced
- 3 tbsp Apple Vinegar
- 50g light brown sugar
- Lemon Juice & zest of 1 lemon
- 6 cinnamon sticks
- 3 whole star anise
- 1 tsp whole clove
To serve:
- Lemon juice & sugar for the rim
- Apple slices
- Cinnamon sticks & star anise
METHOD
- Pour the apple juice into a large saucepan. Stir in the brown sugar and place the lemon zest, cinnamon sticks, star anise and clove inside. Bring to a simmer over low heat, then reduce to the lowest possible heat, top with a lid and simmer for 1.5 hours.
- Stir in the apple cider vinegar and lemon juice, and remove the clove, then decorate your glasses with a sugar rim.
- Serve your mulled cinnamon apple cider with a cinnamon stick and apple slices in the glass.
Chef’s tip!
For some extra flavor, decorate the rim of your glass with cinnamon sugar & add a shot of dark rum for an extra kick!
